Schools Out!

Its Thursday, the last day of school and we are getting ready to head off to assembly. We see lots of little kids with reindeer hats on and the teachers on the side of the hall as always, but the thing is its nearly 12:30. The assembly is the last one for the year. Mr Burt hands out all the left over certificates. "HAPPY HOLIDAYS!!!!!!" Came a loud screech over the hall. I said goodbye to all my friends and walked home. I cant wait until next year and I cant wait until I see my friends again.

My Refection for 2010.

I have enjoyed going to year 5 and 6 camp because the activities we did were really fun like the activities that we got to go to other that the school grounds, rock climbing, roller skating, bowling and the close to school activities like kayaking, orientation and camp cooking.

I have enjoyed learning all about volcanoes from our topic Active Earth because I didn’t know that Auckland is right on top of a hot spot. We learnt about the different volcanoes and how they build up and erupt.
I would like to play more games and go outside and enjoy the fresh air also do more cooking because we need a brake from doing class work. My goal is to get better at maths.

For next year I want to put more posts on my blog. My best memories from this year would have to be the Yr 5 and 6 camp because we got to do different activities.

Western Springs.

" Are you coming to Western Spring park?" My Mum asked auntie Leonie. " Yep," she replied. We all got ready and I went with auntie Leonie. We got to Western Spring park and couldn't find mum or dad so we followed the footpath and finally we found the park and mum ad dad. We played then went to feed the ducks. Cree got angry and then SPLASH!!! Khaia started to scream because Cree had just pushed her into the water. With Khaia crying, we played for a little more and went home. I want to go back there.

The Simpson's

The Simpson's is one of my favourite cartoons. It is about a family of 5 that live in a little town called Springfield. They are Marge, Homer, Lisa, Bart and Maggie. I like it because Homer and Bart is funny because they do things to each other. Lisa is the smartest one out of all of them and is the brainiest in her school. Bart always is in detention because he does he does stuff to his principal. Marge is a stay home mum and looks after Maggie. Maggie seems like a normal baby but she isn't because she is one of those violent babies. She even has her own gun. I like to watch and hope you do to.

Pike River Mine Memorial Service.

We are watching the emotional world wide memorial service,at Omoto Race Corse, for the pike river men who died in the explosion that happened there. There is a lovely choir singing Amazing Grace for the devastated families that have lost their sons, Husbands, dads, brothers and nephews. I think that it is to dangerous to retrieve the bodies out of the mine, and the families are taking turns to talk about the people that they have lost. They are beautiful pieces of writing.

The 29 tables set across the front of the stage symbolize the people lost. The tables have what they liked and what they liked to do. These losses have an impact on NZ because we have lost a lot of men through out the past so this adds to it.

We have a great connection through trans Tasman. The Prime Minister of Australia helped us by sending things from her country to ours. Also the Chilean miners have been in touch as well as Prince Harry and Hillary Clinton. I am very sorry for the people that lost there loved ones in the mine.

REWIND!

We were inspired by the talented students of St Pius X School, who made this rewind movie for the Manaiakalani Film Festival. In extension we did our own little rewind movie of our own. When we did the movie, we realized that it must of took a long time and rehearsal to get it right, but our one took a little bit of time to do it. Their movie is 3 minutes long. Me, Litia, Vivenne and Makerita were in this movie with Mrs Tele'a as the teacher. Here is a link to St Pius X School to check out their movie.
